Founded in 1896 as both an educational and service organization, the Guild seeks to set and maintain high musical standards and to promote understanding and appreciation of all aspects of organ and choral music.
As part of our effort to inspire young people to take up organ study, the Tampa Chapter of the AGO is accepting organ study scholarship applications. Upon completion of a successful audition, students will be awarded a $750 scholarship for one year’s organ lessons with a qualified instructor. The Margaret Smith McAlister Scholarship—named in memory of a long-time Tampa organist—is funded by contributions received at our annual “Bach Birthday Bash” held each March and generous donations by the McAlister family and others.
